The Holy See's Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development has recently published a resource kit for parish priests and others, to help us inform and guide the faithful with regard to COVID-19 vaccines. Two of the most helpful documents are accessible below.  One is a two-page "Family Guide," which addresses many of the most common questions about the vaccines. The other document summarizes the Holy See's responses to certain moral questions referred to them in recent months, as vaccines were being developed.  The "Note" published by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on December 21, 2020 should dispel any doubts that have been sown by American Church authorities since the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was approved for distribution in the United States. An official statement from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, when approved by the Pope, represents the highest moral authority in the Catholic ChurchThe bottom line is that all of the vaccines which are medically approved as safe and effective are also approved by the Holy See as morally acceptable.
